that is a love token, that has been holed to wear as a necklace. And I believe your bottom photo is up-side down.

If the reverse image is turned 180° it looks like the letters M-B-C. Most likely the initials of the person that received the love token. There is a market for love tokens. You may want to do some research to find a value for this piece.

With the nice condition of the dime and the quality of the engraving, I think it could be worth $25 and up, to the right collector.

I'd grade this one in the au/low mint state range, cleaned. 25-30 on a price.
