1988/1988-D FS-901 ...need Help Identifying Main Characteristic Of FG

Bigtn9 New Member United States 17 Posts	Posted 03/20/2020 11:35 pm After reading about the 'Flared G' online and reviewing PCGS graded 1988 & 1988-D Wide AM fs-901 pennies, I'm having a difficult time identifying the major characteristic of the FG initials that make it a FS-901 variety. The 1988-d (red) fs-901 PCGS graded coin images do not have FG initials that look like the RDV-006 FG initials (I'm assuming from a weak strike...?), so I cannot figure out which of these would be a fs-901 variety...Can somebody look at these and tell me what I am missing or what characteristic(s) to look for on the FG besides the 'flare', it's taking so much time and driving me crazy. Here are some coins I trying to rule out... Can somebody please help me figure this out or simplify this for me? These are all 1988-D 1c Report this Post to the Staff

RDV-005 is narrow in size, and RDV-006 is wider in size. Also on AMERICA the AME devices are narrow rounded devices on the RDV-005 and the RDV-006 has wider flat devices.
