Bluefalco New Member 43 Posts	Posted 11/06/2020 4:37 pm I checked the key dates in my 15 rolls of 1970's Inc's. Nothing exciting. Culling the rest for errors. What is this on 1972 D? Off center? Die error? Anything unusual here. If so, how is it categorized for future referenced? Report this Post to the Staff

Adam_E Pillar of the Community United States 4846 Posts	Posted 11/06/2020 4:45 pm This is caused by a misaligned die, the obverse die was not completely centered when this coin was struck. It's technically an error but a common one. They dont demand a premium unless the error is massive. A differentiator between a misaligned die and an off center strike would be the centered reverse strike, an off center strike would be equally off center on the reverse. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 11/07/2020 6:03 pm Not a keeper. This is caused by a titled die. The area on the outside edge of the rim was a fin. But when they get rolled up, that flattens the fin. Just a spender coin. Report this Post to the Staff
