2020 D Billings Quarter. Strange Color

Brown12-B New Member United States 23 Posts	Posted 02/20/2021 08:56 am I found this quarter in my change. It isn't a gold plated hsn quarter as you can see but it's not normal either. It's in a decent MS condition and I'm thinking about getting it graded but would like to get some insight on the color variation first and what may have caused it. The pictures aren't the greatest for showing the color but it's almost a rose gold but a bit lighter. Report this Post to the Staff

[u]So why have a coin slabbed if it will cost more, than you can sell it for?[/] To me if it is slabbed, I pay the price I consider what it is worth. (buy the coin and not the plastic) So why would you have this coin slabbed? I couldn't find an inflated price for these on PCGS? Looks like that is not included now. If it looks like "rose gold" it is either plated (most likely) or environmentally tarnished/toned. Either way, no value added. Multiple coins are confusing. Having this coin graded would be a waste of money, in my opinion. Check ebay's sold listings for similar values. Report this Post to the Staff
