1945 Wheat Cent - What Exactly Is Going On Here?

hannahw86 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 02/19/2021 9:53 pm Hey folks! This is only my second post so I hope I'm in the right spot, since I'm not really sure this is an error. I inherited some bags of wheat cents from an uncle of mine, and I've seen a few that look a bit like the attached photos, with the 1945 being the one that has the most severe markings. Is this just damage from circulation? Any info would be helpful! I'm new to collecting--I'm impressed by how quickly you all ID things on these threads. I don't know how you do it! merclover Bedrock of the Community United States 10635 Posts	Posted 02/19/2021 10:10 pm This certainly is not "normal circulation" this is above average damage, perhaps from a parking lot, perhaps some other abuse, but definitely post mint damage ( PMD).
