@levelsofmadnes I was trying to think of what could have caused it! OK so all of the ones that look similar to that with the crazy peels and pock marks, I'll set aside as "parking lot coins" haha. Thanks!

yes, easy to recreate by stepping on a coin then sliding the coin forward using downward pressure. ...not that I have tried it

This certainly is not "normal circulation" this is above average damage, perhaps from a parking lot, perhaps some other abuse, but definitely post mint damage ( PMD). Keep searching!   to the CCF!

Nice coin to use when experimenting with soak times in acetone...when you get to that stage  to CCF good luck on future finds,have fun and keep asking when needed...

 To CCF , Best to just throw it into a wishing well and wish that you don't find anymore pennies like that in those bags .

Wow, something certainly did a number on those coins. Even with a bit of road rash, you got some cool colors going through these cents :)
