Well it did go thru the upset mill - Ya got a dollars worth of cents more than you had before!

EDIT - BUT that is quite a rim to be formed by an upset mill - could be something else?

Interesting. That does seem pretty substantial for a proto-rim, but the weight will tell more of the story.

I noticed the rim also. Its weight is 2.6g. Does not appear to have been sanded on or any grinding.
