This coin was purchased as Aureolus. But I was then told coins from Aureolus has a letter in the exergue. Others say the style is Aureolus. Any opinions are appreciated.

The exe could simply be missing due to die clogging.

According to the Cunetio Hoard, the first issue does not have a letter in the exergue (see Cunetio #2473 and 2475 for example...the reverses are AEQVIT and EQVIT). The issue III VIRTVS EQVIT has a T in the exergue.

and yes, issued by Aureolus.
