Beautiful 1846-D! Typical Dahlonega strike. This complicates the grading a bit.
On the obverse, I see clear centrils, distinct hair beads, sharp LIBERTY, and strong hair curls, after adjusting for the strike. On the reverse, full shield, and the shield horizontals are weak but complete, the shield verticals are complete. The inner feathers have sharp details. Most of what I see is strike, rather than wear. The no-motto reverse wears a bit differently from the motto reverse, since the ribbon protects the head and neck a bit more on the "with motto" coins.
I'm definitely in EF-land here. I'm at EF-40, and it's not far too from EF-45.

Clueless as to the subtleties of grading early gold, but I'll say VF-35 as well.

XF40 but I think it slabbed at VF35 since its PCGS

EF-40, these usually have a softer strike.
