1994 P Jefferson Nickel. Grease Filled Die Error "sphinx Nickel" ?

Fooltraveln Valued Member United States 59 Posts	Posted 03/15/2022 12:12 pm I am new to posting about collecting coins but have collected them for 30 + years due to moving around many times. I have lost every collection to date. Sometimes I give them away too when I see it interests a new hobby for someone. So I found this Nickel I think it is what they call a Grease Fill error I thought it looked like the Sphinx a bit so I wanted to share and get a opinion or 2. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/15/2022 1:55 pm Weight? 1. If the weight is normal it looks like a Grease Fill issue. 2. If the weight is under weight, then the coin may be altered or the planchet was under weight. The thinning of the planchet would prevent a full strike. But guessing it is probably #1.
