I have a complete set of Presidential dollars in original US Mint packaging. I am wondering what is the best way to store them.

Would it be be better to keep them in the US Mint packaging, place them in a Dansco album, or something else?

It think it is going to be personal preference. I prefer Dansco albums, but if you do not mind the original packaging, keep them there. Neither one is air tight and I do not believe either one has a preservation advantage over the other.

That being said, any capsule based system would/should offer more protection from the environment than an album or the OGP can provide. However, albums and OGP kept in a controlled environment should hold up just as well, at least that is my experience.

Since they are unlikely to have anything over face value for our (or our kids) lifetime, package them in a way to be able to enjoy them.

I'm doing both - one set in OGP and another I'm cracking out to put in my Dansco albums. I'm using my Albums as a source of reference - if I need to look at a coin somebody is asking about - out comes that album to compare it to. Faster than searching on the net.
