The lettering in USoA is showing a lot of metal flow towards the rim, or insufficient metal movement to form the letters. Almost looks like a bit of Smith Effect above the O. Is it possible that it's a tapered planchet? Doesn't look like a clip. Report this Post to the Staff

The edge thickness and reeding look completely normal. Besides being slightly underweight I can't explain the the weakness seen around the rim.
