I had just calibrated the scale so there wasn't an issue there. I was just randomly weighing my wheat pennies when this one was way off. is this of any value or is it just a thick planchette ? tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6182 Posts	Posted 02/01/2025 1:55 pm That's pretty heavy, but historically thin and thick planchets are just cool to have with little premium. For my own interests I just sent off an MS grade 1971 Lincoln Cent to ANACS which came in at 3.60g. Might be a money loser long-term but I just wanted a heavy planchet on the slab so included it with a bunch of other things I was already sending in. Yours is a keeper, and seems like the best explanation is a rolled thick planchet, but only a small value increase. However, while your image isn't quite sharp enough to tell, the coin looks somewhat like RPM-001, FS-501. Edited by tropicalbats 02/01/2025 1:56 pm Report this Post to the Staff
