Unidentified Copper/Bronze Coin - Coin Community Forum

PMCoin New Member Canada 32 Posts	Posted 07/06/2026 10:11 am Does anyone recognize where and when this coin may have been issued. I'm assuming it is Asian, but I'm not even sure what is the correct orientation. Diameter 2.4 cm. Weight 7.8 g I'm reluctant to soak this coin to get rid of the verdigris since it most likely will attack the limited detail remaining. Or why do you think it may have originated there. Also, based on these pictures, it appears as though all of the marks are incuse rather than raised. Can you please confirm that is the case? If so, then I think that @scu was right in their assessment. Maybe an old British Halfpenny slick that someone has marked up? tdziemia Pillar of the Community United States 7969 Posts	Posted 07/06/2026 2:02 pm If you rotate the second photo abouit 30 degrees counterclockwise, I see a horse or bull left with head turned right/ Style is more reminiscent of Lascaux than bull and horseman jitals I can recall. I'm stumped but will move your thread over to a different subforum where we put things that we don't know what they are. Hopefully that will get some good eyes on it. Also, as to soaking/cleaning, definitely hold off on that step for now. The surfaces are a wonderful brown and it would be a shame to change that.
