PCGS - As a high-relief, first-year issue, the 1921 Peace dollar is scarce in Mint State grades and rare with vibrant toning. This Toner Tuesday, this PCGS MS66 example shatters those expectations with stunning rainbow hues. It last realized $9,600 at Stack's Bowers.

I love a good toned coin, but the splotchy toning on this key date is not appealing to me.

I'm with RedRaider on this - the splotchy toning just doesn't do it for me.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The toning is not appealing to me at all. Probably got a big push thru the grading service by an auction company to get that lofty grade (or maybe the pictures aren't really representative of what the coin actually looks like in hand (?}.

Is it just me, or do Peace dollars and WLHs for some reason tend to present less desirable toning overall than Morgan's and Barber halves?
