To answer your question, the illustration is printed on and can easily be chemically removed. Also coins are struck or minted. Banknotes are printed. Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16935 Posts	Posted Yesterday 11:35 pm For those unaware, the original series of coins this coin came from had most of the design pad-printed (or painted on) by the mint. The entire reverse design, except for the words "ten pence", are painted on. Here's an example from Numista, with a wren: https://en.numista.com/321081 I always have an issue with declaring "missing ink" coins to be mint errors, simply because it's really easy to create a "missing ink" coin just by soaking a perfectly normal painted coin in acetone or some similar solvent to dissolve the paint away. It would look exactly the same. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S.
