Thanks for sharing your set, it's looking really good. I'm not sure what you mean by crazy shield prices. They are SUPER common. I'd wager you could pull them all (2010 through 2025) in a box or two at absolute most. Most crh just throw them back so odds are you can find some good AU/BU examples for face value. Then you'd have the complete set since business strikes ended with 2025. Just my Two Cents but if you can get pennies from the bank it would be super easy to fill those holes!

Proofs, my friend. I buy on ebay primarily, and prices constantly fluctuate, depending on the scenario. And at the moment, they are ridiculously priced due to the US mint stopping production of the cent. I wouldn't pay 30-40 dollars for most proof coins, especially clad ones, let alone a Shield cent. 40-80 dollars for a 2025/2026 proof shield cent? Yeah, that's a huge no. Saw a listing for a RAW 2026 proof Shield cent. Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm content with stopping the series at 2009 anyways. Good enough for me.

Ah my bad, I read the initial post stating business strikes. I don't blame you one bit regarding the proof shields, I wouldnt buy them either. If anything you'd be better buying full silver proof sets and then take the penny from there.
