(Mods, you can delete/move this thread if need be...) Compiled by a probable fake author of Rob Quarterman. I picked up this atrociously bad "guide" a couple of days ago to save someone from getting deceived by this poorly written book. I am sure some of you here on the  have seen or heard of this "author"? When perusing through this, I was laughing quite a bit on some of the more ludicrous "so called facts", extreme inconsistencies, and some insane typos and lots of really bad, cringe grammar. The coin nerd in me was SMH many times, and if you are familiar with this, you probably would too. When looking around here on the CCF, I couldn't find any other references to this book or author, and was curious if others on here have ran across this? Because of the copyright notice at the front, I am not going to write or post pictures of any of the book unless the mods say it is OK, only because I would like to share how this book is actually a detriment to the coin collecting community at large.  |

Ok, cool then (thanks Jbuck!); once I get home, I can show some more of the ridiculous pages... Keep in mind, some information in this book is actually pretty accurate, but next to some rather ludicrous stuff.   Edited by mrwhatisit

ChatGTP and other AI tools can be incredibly useful, but to use the results without careful review, fact-checking and editing is irresponsible. It's becoming more and more common to see obviously AI-generated product descriptions used verbatim by not only ebay coin/currency sellers but also by some online dealers and (as in this case) by so-called "authors". I didn't mention the computer aided thingamagigy because of Bobby forum dad cracking down on similar posts, so thanks Spence and others above Ok, so to start with some of this sloppy stuff:  Pages 21 and 22 in which this list does not make any logical sense    Page 33 where it is pretty self explanatory, but look at #5  and odd wording throughout...  Next page (ironically most of the info in the "slabbing" section seems mostly OK to me at least except for the end of paragraph #2... The heading Coin Grading made me think it was going to describe the condition of coins, but nope, it went to an awkward description of all the current denominations of our coins...  I'll upload more of this book soon... |

If the above needs to be deleted because of Bobby's rules on this topic, I understand fully. I just wanted to show a few pages of this insanity (but if permitted I can do more, as this book overall is pretty atrocious for the most part.) But just think about it: some will buy a book like this and use it as a reference to push around to others.
