1999 Canadian Penny - Wrong Weight (2.64g)

LindalCoins New Member Canada 21 Posts	Posted Yesterday 09:54 am Looking for some help with a coin I came across today and can't find much information on the internet. I was weighing my coins and found a 1999 Canadian penny with a weight of 2.64g instead of 2.25. I'm not sure if this would be struck on the wrong planchet, any help would be appreciated. JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21920 Posts	Posted Today 1H 25M ago The 1999P coins (1-50 cent) were test coins for the vending industry and were available to the public in special sets and not issued for circulation. I doubt that test coins would have any weight variation beyond normal tolerances. Report this Post to the Staff

See the below pictures, it's the coin in question(left) compared to a regular 1999(right), it is not noticeable larger in thickness or general size. It's also non-magnetic and there is no P mint mark under the bust. Report this Post to the Staff
