It's the weekly Thursday Market today and I have returned with a few new coins. Identified all but 2, these I will put in separate posts. This 'Fouree' is my favourite out of the group.

It looks like a young Caracalla denarius. I do not like the texture it shows. It can be an ancient counterfeit? Are those flaws near the forehead showing base metal?

Thus the reductions in weight as well as purity during his reign
And when stocks run out ?
Cheat ! Fourree's galore
And not a few 'Limes' denarii
I have had more than a few of the later .
