When roll searching, do any of you keep these? I haven't up to this point, but after finding a few AU or better examples lately, I began to wonder if I should. Since its the first year of this design, it could be a little more sought after eventually - right?

Thoughts?

I keep any BU red copper cents that I find while roll searching. I keep them seperated by date and MM till I have a roll then put them away. They may be worth more down the road, they may not, but I will still have a roll of copper cents.

Since I am keeping all copper cents, I am keeping the 1959 LMCs when I come across them.

But I suppose that does not answer your question.

Yeah, I'm keeping all coppers too (although I'm about to sell off 50 rolls). I was just wondering about keeping these separately from that.

Yes, I would definitely keep the 59 BUs seperate from the other coppers.

I just stopped saving the 59 D's......I have two coin tubes of them....and that's enough for me (regardless of the future)
I have one and a half tubes of the 59 Philly, and once I fill that, I'll stop there too.
From then on, I'm only going to save any "exceptional" ones that I come across and that's it.

Hey, by the way.....is this anything ?
I found a 59 D where the "D" is right up below the date...nearly touching it.....while I noticed that all the other "normal" 59 D's.....the "D" is substantially below the date with a good space there ?
Chuck this away...or do I have something "mildly" interesting ?
Sorry.....don't have pics of it.

Ah, good question.

As time permits, I am sorting my copper hoard by date.

So far I have it down to decades. Eventually, the 1959's will be separated, but for now, I am not keeping them that way.

Although they should be, since they are the only cents from the 50's. (I keep them in the 60's since I keep those occasional Wheat cent finds completely separate).
