i went to the coin shop today to pick up some Indian cents, and I went looking though the junk silver buckets..

they had some beautiful sparkling 61, 64, 62 wash quarters for 13x face, so for $3.25 I could of had a nice AU, should I go back and get them?

as for the morgans and peace, $16 for one? pretty decent right? I mean they looked awful.. maybe next time...

If you buy the quarters, they'll be yours to keep at an average price. Take a loupe with you and look at them again.

If the Morgans looked awful, determine how awfully less (if they are) than "Good" they are. $16 - $30 is about the retail price for many Morgans in Good - Fine condition.

Always carry a loupe. I carry Warman's on US coins and Currency - Field Guide -- Values and Identification in my truck. Mine's the 2008 2nd edition by Allen G. Berman.

There's a 3rd edition by Arylyn G. Seiber now available

It's a small (but thick) and simply-written book that's good to have in the "field."

13X face is a good price for the Washingtons but remember silver took a big leap yesterday.

$16 for junk Morgans is good too as long as they're not damaged. Even in AG condition, they're worth $16 easy. I'd pass on the really rough Peace though.
