French 1700th Coins, Help With ID - Coin Community Forum

thq Pillar of the Community United States 3347 Posts	Posted 12/14/2010 4:15 pm 1 - 5 centime 8AA is about TB35 grade, and worth about $40. 2 - 1 centime L'an 6A (53/50 type) is about TB25, and worth about $10. 3 - 1792 Marseille 6 deniers is about B, and worth about $50. SeriousCERES Valued Member United States 365 Posts	Posted 12/14/2010 4:37 pm The third one is mintmarked M/A-- the M is on top of the A, can't do that with my keyboard!--next to the 2 in the date on the obverse. The B in thq's posting is the French grading system, and stands for "Beau", which lines up approximately with G, for Good, in US grading terms. I believe the high value on that 3rd coin stems from the mintmark, which is less common than many. The letter to the right of the reverse device should be a D. Nice coins!
