fenton Pillar of the Community United States 4989 Posts	Posted 12/24/2010 07:46 am Yes a fairly large, 500k, number of friendly eagle variety 1971-d ikes were struck on proof planchets. Mine however is not a friendly eagle so the question is how many regular dies were struck on those planchets? Report this Post to the Staff

So I guess I have proof planchet Ike which makes it a bit more rare but other than that nothing super special. Oh well on to the next coin :) Report this Post to the Staff
Shavill Valued Member United States 139 Posts	Posted 12/24/2010 5:27 pm I don't know if its people being dumb, its just the fact that "coin collecting" is not on everyone's mind. Most people wouldn't think that something that says 1 dollar is going to be worth more than that. Thats my opinion, I didn't really think so till I started researching myself.
