I have a few of these that have a rippled rim on them and was wondering if it is an error or a variety or nothing at all. I have had a lot of trouble trying to take a photo of it so I am trying to post a video for the first time using my Celestron usb digital microscope. Let me know if you can see the rippling. All input welcome.Thanks,John1

John,
I noticed that effect too on some of my Presidential dollars. It seems to be in line with the different letters, stars, date on the edge lettering. I don't know what it's caused by either, so I'll be anxious to see the responses.

Yes it has something to do with the way they applied the edge lettering. At first I thought it was because they didn't center the letters so it would favor one side of the planchet but the rippling is on both sides of the coin.So . Thanks for the reply okiepb.
