1988 Die Break/Crack? - Coin Community Forum

HoosierDaddy Pillar of the Community United States 1164 Posts	Posted 01/04/2011 04:04 am I didn't notice the crack into the Memorial, all I really noticed was the raised crack on the surface starting at the rim leading up to the building. After I got my toy (microscope) out then I noticed the how much further it ran. . Report this Post to the Staff

oldcoach Valued Member United States 402 Posts	Posted 01/04/2011 09:17 am I found two just like that yesterday a 1983 and a 1984 with the 84 having a small crack on the west side also. I do not know if they classify these as breaks or cracks. Cool finds with breaks that long. Report this Post to the Staff

Scooby Due Pillar of the Community United States 4000 Posts	Posted 01/04/2011 10:18 am "Collectable" is a personal preference. You will find many of these all in the same place. That particular area is very common and easy to find. Die crack collectors might pay a small premium for spectacular cracks, but not usually on ones they can find roll searching themselves. I keep a couple for cool factor, but would rather trade the rest in for another "lottery ticket". Keep an eye out for cracks coming off the tops of both sides of the memorial that make it look like a porch swing! And another with cracks coming off all 4 corners, those are pretty cool, too.
