Ralph Pillar of the Community United States 1582 Posts	Posted 11/17/2006 4:05 pm Y'all ever get a coin that you're almost positive that it's one grade, but you're hoping against hope that it might be another? That's what I've got here. I'm near certain that it will fall into the VF grade, but I'm wanting to believe it might possibly squeeze it's way into EF-40. What do you think? Thanks. SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 11/17/2006 5:16 pm Grader's Choice. It might make EF, depending on how the grader feels that day. Not if I were grading it. You should expect a typically good San Francisco strike for this one, and tougher grading as it approaches significant value in AU and MS. Report this Post to the Staff

kodji Valued Member United States 68 Posts	Posted 11/18/2006 12:48 pm Ralph, I'm not a Morgan person, but I looked in photograde and it looks like a very fine on both sides. The book says for VF obverse: Approximately half of the hairlines will show from the top of the head. For VF reverse: Three-quartes of the major feather detail will show on the wings. The breast will be worn smooth. Now, for EF obverse: All the hairlines will show. Wear will appear on the high points around the ear. EF reverse: There will be wear on the head and the highest points of the breast feathers. Hope this helps. Report this Post to the Staff
