Ralph Pillar of the Community United States 1582 Posts	Posted 09/24/2006 10:53 am This coin is the second in the 3 coin set from Littleton. I hadn't noticed that big old nasty fingerprint until I took this scan. It can't be mine because it hasnt been out of the container until now for this scan, and I used cotton gloves and handled it by the edge. Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 09/24/2006 3:53 pm this is another example of New Orleans weak strike, I beleive it is a MS coin and I do beleive that is a finger print, but that being said I have also seen some textile toning that looked close to finger print toning over so I cant be real sure about that. I do beleive Littleton was close on this one and I beleive it is a low MS coin. I think metalman is the NewOrleans collector in our bunch so maybe he can chime in and help explain it to you Report this Post to the Staff
SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 09/24/2006 4:27 pm The bad part is, it's unlikely that fingerprint will come off. If it were my coin, I'd drop it into acetone for a few days. Honestly, I think the coin is maybe a grade under, lowered because of all the stuff sticking to it. Report this Post to the Staff
