Please check this scan of this '86 Morgan dollar and assign a grade to it.

It is important to not that although the scan did not pick it up completely, this coin has all of its luster and a very strong cartwheel effect present.

thanks.

I would love to say 64 but too many rim dings

What am I seeing on reverse that looks like a breast feather missing?

63 is probably about right. I see a clash on the right of the wing on the rev.

ms-63 but may be MS-64. I have not gotten the grading by scans down very good because a scan can make a coin look totally different than a camera picture can

I'm a bit new to this, but since you ask - here's my take on it:

On luster - taking your word on it - a 65;
on nicks and dings - a 64 (rim dings are IMHO fairly minor); and on fullness of strike - a 63.

Overall therefore, -- drum roll please -- MS 64.

If a seller tried to sell it to me as a 64, I wouldn't be upset. If a potential buyer told me he viewed it as a 63, I'd be chagrined but not irate. If it were to come back from PCGS a 62 or lower, I'd take it as a learning experience!
