Found this roll searching today. Never seen anything like it in hand. The reverse is a normal AU+ well struck USA nickel ...  The obverse however is a mushy, smeared mess. I can make out the devices, and the Date/MM ..... but everything is fuzzy. It also appears that the obverse strike is 'deeper' than normal, i.e., the distance from the edge of the rim to the field appears deeper.  Opinions on what's going on here? Curious, I know what "generic" means but how does that apply here ?
What would differentiate generic from the usual ? so to speak.

A capped die strike can show a brockage, a counterbrockage, a combination brockage/counterbrockage (several types), a normally-oriented incuse design (from a shifted or rotated die cap), and several more exotic possibilities. A generic capped die strike shows a featureless surface or a featureless surface with a raised ghost image of the design that bled through the thin floor of the die cap. A generic capped die strike can be generated by a uniface die cap or a late-stage die cap that lost its original design on its working face.
