scotty11 Pillar of the Community United States 1042 Posts	Posted 10/29/2011 5:21 pm My best guess is that someone attempted to alter/erase the mm on this one. The high points on the date and mm make me think that it also had a recent "rub" to check the date, before it was tossed into the bag. What do the rest of you think? Heck, it's a '22-D...and I only paid $.045 for it. I'm not sure it's worth wasting any acetone on though. Report this Post to the Staff

It's got some PVC contamination on it, and the lighter fluid will dissolve that. It wont' turn the coin a funny color either. That one's rather neat because it's a woodie to boot. Leave it soak in lighter fluid for a day and take it out, place it on a paper towel and blot the fluid off. Do not abrade the coin ... no rubbing allowed here.
