I was wondering what the silver content, if any, this coin may contain. CC coin facts (main quarter page) reports this coin as "Silver Proof Content: Cladding 80% silver 20% copper, COre 20.9% silver, 79.1% copper" (hmmm, never heard of that particular composition). Clicking on 1982-s and I see "Cladding 75% Copper 25% Nickel, COre 100% Copper".

Was there a silver and a clad proof that year?

Thanks! Enjoying the forum.

Proof quarters were copper/nickel clad only from 1968-1991 with the exception of 1976, in which a 40% silver proof was issued.

Starting in 1992 up through the present year, both clad and 90% silver proofs were made.

Your 1982 proof has no silver content.

Oh yes, I see now. If I had scrolled down a bit more I would have seen the "silver proof" designation. Thanks for the info.

Such an easy word......scroll. Took me 8 months to train my hamster to do that.
