I don't recall what year Australian coins stopped being 80% silver, maybe the bids are only for silver content?

LOL - I saw this on ebay last night and had a good old laugh... it is only the mangled 20c that is for sale so NO SILVER content at all!
The text in the description is mis-leading and deceptive - and (in my humble opinion) this looks to be deliberate...

silver in 20c coins?
I dont think so...

967 20 cent .Photo Taken Over A 50 cent coin.
In 1966 circular Australian 50 cent coin a one year type .
It was replaced with a dodecagonal (12 sided) Issue in 1969,
No fifty cent coins having been minted in 1967 or 68.
A number of 67-68 dated patterns exist in both round & dodecagonal format.
I wonder if this 20 cent coin slipped through? have a good for yourself.
If you think what I think then I must be right. please allow 2-3 day's for posting after sale?

and that doesn't make sense to me..... how about you?

Enlil. The seller is being deceptive. The information itself is factual to a point, however they are trying to confuse the reader by supplying unless information about 50c coins (and placing a 50c in the picture, for what purpose?) and then try to sell a damaged 20c coin (worth 20c....just) implying that it is some sort of error. This one is poor form!

The seller has been very careful not to tell an outright lie, but it is as misleading as hell.

I suspect that the buyer is going to be very disappointed that his 20 cent peice isn't dodecagonal.

I would like to introduce these ebay buyers to my Nigerian investment scheme.
