Hi.
I found this coin put by a banknote seller for sell. He told me he found this coin inside his coin counting machine, during his tenure as bank managers.
Is this a ragged type - incomplete planchet error coin?
Sorry for being unable to provide a clearer images of the affected area as I don't have a proper camera, yet.
Blakesley's Effect is not noticable on this coin. Perhaps due to small clip size, small planchet or proper strike?
Then, I investigated on the clipped area.
On the reverse, at the word MALAYSIA. I can see fishtailing at the letter "Y" and "S" (both at the end of it). And there are some obvious metal flow into the clip area by "A" and "I".
On obverse, there is not much to be investigated, except for the lower part of the clipping area.
The end area of this area is not sudden, it flows gradually into the clipped area. Is this an indication of an original clipped planchet?
Any helps or opinions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
