Since this is the main coin forum, I thought I'd point out that you're all focusing on US coins.

One great find recently was by a metal detectorist in Britain who found a rare roman coin. The coin was of the emperor Domitianus that is only known to history because of two coins, and this guy found one of them! I believe the coin was bought by the British Museum.
