1972 Eisenhower dollar Variety 3

Now you need the 20 cent piece with that date and mintmark to complement it.
Surprisingly according to the Red Book that issue is actually cheaper than the quarter.

i picked this one up the other day. I bought it because it was relatively problem free, reasonably priced and I didnt have any decent 1796 caps in my resale inventory. Got it home and attributed it as an S-84. I compared it to my S-84 in my set and found that I liked this one better. I also discovered that the S-84 in my set wasnt an S-84 at all but was instead an S-86 which I thought I didnt have. this prompted me to reattribute everything as well as photograph everything. now I have a visual reference of my collection on my phone. wasnt planning on buying a collection coin that day but now I only need S-83 to complete the 1796 liberty Cap variety set (although some of them are rather ugly and could use an upgrade).

That's a lovely coin. Worn but has character.

got some more new ones this week. these arent very attractive but the prices were reasonable. dont get this many holes filled often. its lke early christmas at my house

1794 S-26. R-2. this is one of the more common 1794 varieties. I bought this because a buddy has a nice one he wants to sell me and I do not want to afford his coin. since I filled the hole I dont feel nearly as compelled to acquire his coin. ill get a nice one eventually but id rather have my money available for rarer varieties.



1794 S-64. R-5-. (60-75 copies estimated to exist) this is a cool variety. shielded hair obverse but with a giant die crack on the reverse. it was attributed and priced near common coin money so I picked it up. with a rarity of 5 or above I really dont care what the coin looks like as long as I can identify it. if I upgrade it later thats a bonus.



1796 S-94 R-5+. (31-45 copies estimated). bought this at auction on ebay. I'm pretty disappointed in the quality it arrived in. it has a bend by the date and those obverse pits and scratches. the sellers photos cropped the bend out and the lighting obscured the pits. the seller described it as smooth. they knew what they were doing. I would have bought it in the condition it is in and would have paid what I paid had I known what it looked like so I decided to keep the coin. I just dont like being misled. I wont buy from that seller again, and amended my saved searches to remove their items.

about that 3rd coin, but the other two are pretty nice coins.
