In 1956, approximately 10% of the 669,384 proof coins struck were done so with the Type 1 design (according to Kevin Flynn's The Authoritative Reference on Franklin half Dollars, published in 2012). Flynn's book shows an NGC Certified PF67 Population of 324; NGC Coin Explorer data from August 2025 shows 2,467. PCGS' current population report shows 897 - compared to 330 in 2012. Thanks for the tips re: removing slab scuffs and scratches. Have seen Meguiar's PlastX Plastic Cleaner & Polish with a microfiber cloth recommended elsewhere. I don't like this Pig Leg Eisenhower, also a few SBA I will need to replace after buying them not too long ago.
