I grew up with the #2 portrait but remember thinking how I liked finding the "old" number #1 coins in change when I was a kid. Maybe that is why I voted for #1.

I am old enough to have grown tired of both #1 and #2, so #3 was a welcomed change for me.

But I could never accept #4. Might as well have Canada's own PM or Governors instead.

I'm from close to the Canada border, and have always been at home in Canada.

I remember as a kid seeing both portrait 1 and 2. Because I was a kid, I favored the young visage but thought she should be wearing a tiara. I also did like the adult portrait of number 2 - just not as much as number 1.

Number 3 made a regal look I thought befitting a Queen. Like her grandfather on the 1936 silver dollar (specifically) - very regal and befitting a monarch.

When number 4 came out I wondered what in the world they were thinking?!
My first impression was they stripped the Queen of her regal status and changed the portrait to someone's grandmother.

In fact number 4 is one of the reasons I quit collecting modern Canadian coin sets and circulating coins. When they are in an album, I don't like the look of the page showing the OBVs!

I hope they give her back her crown - maybe next September?!

As to politics - coming from the US, I always thought it was just a "neat" idea that Canada still has a Queen. I wish I could see her sometime in person since I have lived during a lot of her reign which is so close to outlasting Queen Victoria.
