I don't drive, so I'm not exactly an expert regarding parking availability in Philly. All the same, it's a city, and one geographically limited, so I'd suspect any alternative to be better than driving in every day. Don't hesitate to ask me for whatever further information I could find and provide.

Quote: Any cheese steak stand recommendations? You have to go to either Pat's King of Steaks or Geno's. Both are famous and have been featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel. They also happen to be across the street from one another. Plan on waiting in line for either place, they get quite busy. As for parking, the farther you go from the historic areas or the convention center, the cheaper the rates. For those who like the idea of parking in a parking deck, there is one down the street from City Tavern in the Old City section of Philadelphia. If you park there, it is a 10-15 minute walk through the historic district to the convention center. It is a nice walk and may be worth it for some.

Thank you spider! Well, it must be getting close when the wife comes home with this We already have luggage but it's either really huge (our trips for Denmark to visit her family), or it's too small so, I know why she bought it . I'll be bringing my huge duffle bag as we are spending 2 weeks out there!

Spider, I have been doing some checking on parking and most are garage type with a few parking lots. I will need an outside lot, my truck is 7'6" high. Dave, what day do we go and fine the cheese steak

They're about a mile and a half from the Convention Center. That's less than the distance I commute on by bike each day for my lunch break. IIRC there's also a pretty mean cheesesteak to be had at Charlie's in The Gallery shopping center, right next to the venue.

IMO, I wouldn't go to either Pat nor Geno's, there are far better places than those 2. I'm not sure the name, but I know exactly where I had the best steak sandwich of my life. If anybody's interested the day I come down, my dad and I can show you where

One more question; Have we decided if we are going to have name tags and such?

No wait I'll give you the bike race, but I'll take the steak Racing a bike in downtown Philly is a pretty easy way to get yourself turned into cheesesteak. We'll ride the bus, I think.

Ok we have a little over a month to go. I have some Questions.
How much more do mum and Dad need to cover the table costs? Do they have enough inventory to keep a table stocked over the length of the show? Do you need consigments mailed or brought to the show? How is the stash of coins for the 'get kids hooked' are more needed? Do the rules allow for the sale of exonumia?
I have never actually been involved in a table at a show but I have been to a fair few and I have stayed at a Holiday Inn. Running a table will require quite a significant cash float and the ability to handle credit cards I suspect would be a bonus. Goose neck lights would probably be and advantage. Sometimes its the little things that get forgotten when planning something like this. Anyway I'm sure eveything is in hand. I know this is primarily a CCF get together but I would like to Mom and Dad at least cover their costs and maybe make it a regular thing around the country at various larger shows :-) Do we have a CCF flyer designed? Or something that will remind people to check us out after they have left the show?

Genos cheesestaks, YUCH! All hype and very expensive.
Jimmys on South Street is much better and closer too. Pats is okay. D'Allesandros (northwest city) and Big Johns (New Jersey) are great.

There's a train/subway station under the convention center. Unless you're lugging a lot of stuff or people, remote parking and a train ride could work for you.

Big John's has a pickle bar. Honest, you can't make this stuff up.
