Picked this one up at a coin show a few weeks ago, I think I over paid for it, so what would you all say the grade is?

These are relatively common in high grades - slabbed MS65's go for $150-175 at Heritage, and they're one of the cheaper MS66's at about $300. I mention these grades/prices because I feel your coin to be an absolute slam-dunk MS65 with a very realistic shot at 66. It's one of the nicest '84-O's I've seen at Coin Community. Even in a scan, the obverse striations (an imperfectly-alloyed planchet, I think) strike me as just beautiful.

If you have a loupe, have a close look at the mint mark. There are a few O/O varieties for this year; maybe we can identify it.

I'd have overpaid for it, too.

Agreed. That is a gorgeous '84-O! Not only is it in good shape, but the strike is nice for an 'O', too. ;)
Nice job on that one.

Very nice coin! I think this coin should make at the absolute minimum a MS-65 but I think this is more likely a MS-66.

Thanks! I was hoping for an MS grade! I paid $50 for it, and at the time thought it was a little high but since it looked so nice I paid it. Guess the seller wasn't just feeding me a line when they said that if it was slabbed it would get $150+!

I'll say MS-64 for this one
