So I am thinking of asking for a rare US Banknote for Christmas, but I just dont know what to ask for. I would like to keep it under about 100.00 and I also want to Frame it. Suggestions?

<- just me, I have always liked large size bills. You can get large size bills not grade for under $100. Last year, for $90 I bought a large size "1899 $1 black eagle silver certificate" just because I liked the look of it. I didn't get a graded one, here is just an example of the design. http://www.coastcoin.com/itemdesc.a...6005&eq=&Tp=

Me? I like the $2 notes so one of these. You can get them in a mid grade for under $100.

I would second the black eagle though nickelman has provided another wonderful note to choose from.

Quote:Here are a few that I found on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1899-US-1-0..._4941wt_1003http://www.ebay.com/itm/1899-1-SILV..._1565wt_1237Here are two that I found. What should I try and offer to be fair for these. I really want one that I can frame and put in my room :) At a good B&M or a show I think that you can get a better example than those cited above for roughly $120 to $150. I paid $170 for my example but I'm glad that I held out for a nicer one. Also check out fractional currency there are some neat notes at prices that won't break the bank.

What is a B&M? Also I am not sure if there are any shows coming to Nashville, TN or not?

The largest paper money only show in the US will be at Memphis in June. You should be able to find something there.

Maybe get 2 so that you can display the reverse, as well.
