Wow, stylized it is! Never seen (any) coat of arms in such rendition. More like a piece of crumpled paper.

Call me old-fashioned but I'm much more attracted to coins with a nice heraldic coat of arms and a view of a castle.
I was "assigned" a pen-pal in Bratislava when I was in grade school. Never heard back from him ...

I have to admit I too am very conservative when it comes to my coin preferences. I generally only collect circulating coinage (Prefebably 19th century and before) - but I've made an exception for these - (they are all silver so should retain some value).

I like stuff that tell a story of some kind, and castles and things can look good, if done right. Never really seen a coin I liked with the Bratislava "castle" on it, but even in real life it is hardly inspiring, just like Bratislava itself.

Quote: 1945 9.V 1955 9.V would be May 9th. The countries of Eastern Europe celebrate the Victory Day on that day. Even though Nazi surrender was signed on May 7 and ratified in Berlin on May 8, the last pockets of resistance were in Czechoslovakia. On May 9th the Red Army entered Prague, and that sealed the deal although isolated fighting in the city continued till May 11.
