Presumably, Krause got 'pr66' right.
It seems that not even NGC can tell you if it is an original proof or a restrike proof.
No fault of NGC; I will bet that NGC had no reference data to enable them to distinguish between the originals and the restrikes.

Krause note for KM#33 (gold 20 leva):
"Official restrikes of this type were produced at the Bulgarian Mint in Sophia from 1967-68 and released prior to 2002. These pieces can be distinguished by their thicker and more widely spaced edge legends."

It seems that the restrikes are a die variety based in the edge collar dies.

Krause notes that the original proof strikes are valued at ten times the value of the proof REstrikes.
Perhaps you may wish to write to Krause Publications or email them, to inquire if they have photo records of the two different types of edge collar die details.

@sel_69l

thk you for your advice.
what is also a mystery refers to the mintage 75000 for the the total non proof and proofs. no mintage numbers
for the original proofs in the catalogue. proof restrikes are classified with 2950 total qtys.

PCGS designates the restrikes on their holder. Here is a link to a good quality photo of an example.
