MikeG Valued Member United Kingdom 128 Posts	Posted 01/01/2012 4:55 pm Could be a Pilgrims medal; made from the middle ages onwards but normally of lead or pewter but this could be an upmarket model. Sold at Pilgrimage sites to travellers who made the pilgrimage, often from far distances. You need an extensive Google on Pilgrims tokens, etc. You may come across it. Similar Devotional tokens/medals were also distributed from religious orders. Looks as if it could be British but not sure. Hope that helps a little. Mike. Report this Post to the Staff
