I don't think this is a mint error - but I do want to figure out what happened to it.

Photos taken under a full spectrum/natural light bulb, and represent the true color. The copper color is fairly uniform, even all the way around the rims. A potential tarnish (burned?) spot near date, see close up. Did this go in a kiln or something?

Weight is a fraction above what it should be.

I believe salt , vinegar and a battery and piece of wire will send copper from pennies to nickels

Heat, saliva, sulfur in the air, torched with a lighter and other things can alter a coin surface.
