To Mr. Phillip Smith, I have a few hundred ounces of "gold" dollar coins that I regularly put into circulation just for the fun of it, Hey wait a minute I can give you this offer I will sell you all the gold dollars I have for $5.00 each and with your insanity I mean insight you could make a HUGE profit. I wish I could see the staffer who read this letter's expression and would love to see the response.
Think tank? He didn't really think this through at all, if he did he would have figured out that the golden color is just that color not real gold. Sometimes I wake up and need a good laugh so thank-you Mr. Smith for tomorrows smile.
The real issue is that so many people believe the same thing. We in the hobby need to do our part to inform and put these types of issues into circulation.
My next question is this: What would happen to the collector value of the current golden dollar coins on the market if the mint melted the ones in storage. That law of supply and demand might just kick in here and create a real current collectible.
