This is an old sovereign worth over 260 pounds.

I can't tell by the pictures if there is a mint mark above the first 0 in 1900. If there isn't, then it was made in Great Britain. It is possible that it was minted at another mint in a different colony.

I'm no coin expert, but it looks like a British gold sovereign as xloupe mentioned, you can find out more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovere...ritish_coin)

It is worth about $400 USD or so, as it has about a 1/4 of an ounce of gold in it.
