I apologize for posting this here as I know that this is not the right place to do it but I will explain why. I tried to send this via the "contact us" link, but after I had written it out I realized that thee was no send button or anything of the sort, not sure what was wrong there. So, I didn't know where else to put this, I just figured that a Moderator would find it quickly here. I apologize again.
In respect to the rules behind having to have 50+ posts to participate at all in coin sells/trades. I understand the need to keep spammers out. But there has to be a different way, such as moderators being able to give these privs to certain people. I don't have a lot of time to sit at my computer and just make posts so that I can get to 250. But I would really like to participate in trading/selling/buying coins, its a really enjoyable part of the hobby to me. I do really enjoy this community, and if I can't sell or trade till 250 posts, oh well, so be it those are the rules and I will respect them. On a side note, A+++ to the moderators for doing a great job.

While I appreciate your view and side of things, I might point something out. You mentioned that you don't have time to sit at your computer and make posts to get to 250, but what you're asking is for the mods to take time out of their day to determine who would have special privileges to bypass the rule. That's simply not a fair request IMO.
The mods are just like you and I...everyday people who do basically a thankless job and as far as I know they are not paid for the work they do. Asking them to make exceptions to a long standing rule is being a little unreasonable. If they were to start making exceptions for certain people, it's going to open up a whole can of worms. It's best that there is a rule in place and everyone is required to abide by it.
That's my 2 cents worth. My suggestion is to keep participating and making quality posts and you'll be at the required number before you know it. :)

Quote: I don't have a lot of time to sit at my computer and just make posts In my humble opinion the idea of this site is to share knowledge and experience amongst collectors. It is not a flat out trading site, The trading part of it is so we can share some of our coins, Not make it a business experience. If you want to use a trading site I suggest ebay

Thanks for the responce CoinHunter. I 100% understand your views and I do agree with them. I did not mean to say that the Mods should do more work, I think they they do a great job, I was really just wondering if there was another way to do it. I used to mod a MUCH smaller forum which was much more managable and was able to give certain viewing privs to certain ppl. But I understand that this would be ALOT of work for the mods on such a large forum. I don't say this as a manner of comlaining or anything, but some people, like myself, just don't have time to make 250 posts, even if they want to. I myself am on a computer very little at work and then when I go home I have no time to get on because I have to take care of a special needs family member. I don't say this for pitty or anything. I just wish that there was a way to be able to take full advantage of what this community has to offer without having to take a year to make 250 posts. But, I will keep at it and will get there eventually. Once again I apologize if I sounded whiney or incinuated that the Mods should work harder, this was never my intent.
Ok, now I can't find Spell Check, lol, so I apologize for that as well.

As you likely guessed, BST activities are a distant second in priority to educational discussions. With that being said, there will not be exceptions made, even if we had the time. Sorry.
About your missing buttons..... Judging from the ISP your posting from, I'd bet your forced to have javascript turned off, which unfortunately, breaks a lot of things.

Trout, I completely understand what you are saying and I must say, I have learned TONS from this community. I appreciate all that the mods and the community members do to keep thsi sight going and to keep it an educational community. Thanks for your comments. I do understand the reasoning behind the rules and I will continue to abide by them, thus I will drop this now. Even with the rules standing, they will not dissuade me from being part of the community that I do enjoy so much.

Look just in this thread alone you have 3 more quality posts so far. And I have added another one to my count also.

Actually, I am somewhat numismatically dependent on a Site such as the CCF.
I have wide ranging collecting interests to the extent that I would have to be considered as a generalist, not a specialist. Despite the fact that I have been collecting for about 40 years, I still have a lot to learn from those who specialise in their area of interest.
This explains why I have posted in so many different forums within the the CCF.
It is the educational thing that drives my interest in the CCF, and I really have little motivation to use the CCF to buy or sell, irrespective of the number of my posts.

Selling on CCF is not going to make you rich. The truth is that you will for the most part realize better prices for your coins on venues like ebay. The one huge advantage CCF has is that any coins you do sell or trade here will be going to collectors who appreciate them. Sit back relax take your time and enjoy the ride. Most of us will still be here when you get to 250.
