Very nice, Mike. (I'm assuming that the fingerprint isn't yours . Have you attributed all of these?

Susan, Not yet! I have about 12 or 15 that I have not even really looked at yet. I will get to them eventually. I did try employing the cropping and color correcting features in Paint. I think they look better. I need to follow up the next batch with the other advice on lighting, background, and adding some text info. I appreciate the input. Do you think the comments were a good idea? I was hoping others would find things I missed! Mike

Mike,

I'm probably not the right person to ask about the text. I saw pics and Bust Halves and dove right into the pics without reading the text. It's that whole "instant gratification" thing. I kind of collect vicariously through others.

Do you mind if I take a crack at some of the attributions? I could keep my opinions to myself if you want to do them yourself first.
Rest in Peace

This looks like O-103. The obv has both the unusual line below the R in liberty and the filled upper corner of the 3 in the date. The T/I alignment on the reverse apears to be a -2 making it an O-103.

I think this one is O-107. Star 1 points to the middle of a denticle and the T/I alignment is -1, so it is either 107 or 108. Upon looking at the reverse, the T in states is slightly lower than the A is meaning that it is an O-107.

Wow, this one looks like 106, 101, or 102, but I am having a tough time telling from the pics which it is. I give up, the reverse is weak in an important area and I've been struggling for 30 minutes to figure this one out, so I give up. lol [:p]

That was fun! If I'm wrong about any of these, it wouldn't be the first time, and I'm sorry, but I had a lot of fun. Thanks!

BTW, I used Peterson's "The Ultimate Guide to Attributing Bust Half Dollars."

Thanks, The_Cave_Troll! Maybe Susan can figure out the last one. I have Overton's and Breen's books. I'll be looking now that you left a mystery! Mike

No problem, I enjoyed it! I love Peterson's "Guide". The mothodology that he uses is fabulous. It provides a step-by-step process for determining the proper attribution. I highly recommend it.

Hi Mike, it's not in my catalog. I'll call Amanda tomorrow or Tuesday and see if they can get it.

Okay. I think I got the 1832. With the small spike at the peak of the cap, the slightly lower 3 and the slightly taller 5, it looks like an O-110. The "A" and "URI" are weak strikes on this variety also. What do you think, Mike?

By the way, Mike, the pics are excellent! I had no problem at all blowing these up and seeing all of the finer details! Way to go!

I have found that working on more than 2 at a time can either make a coin look like it fits all varieties or none. Being a woman, you'd think I could multitask with these....NOT!
