Thanks ExpoGuy, as it turns out Cooper Street in Jackson is a major commercial route through the city and Thompson Street is in a residential area.

@ Mark & John ... A belated welcome to the CCF !!
Those are some tougher CWT's to come by, Mark. That's a fine starter collection, John. If you fellas haven't as yet done so, do consider joining the Civil War Token Society. I joined back in the seventies. My only regret is that I didn't then sign on for a life membership!

Thanks for the kind welcome ExoGuy. Like alot of people on here I'm sure, I became exposed and interested in tokens from digging quite a few metal detecting. After digging quite a few, I began buying local tokens occasionally. About 6 months ago I bought my first Civil War store card and have been buying them for as much as my wallet will allow

It's getting harder to find the remaining store cards I need but did manage to pick up an upgrade to one from Parma, Michigan. Fuld 3 lists the manufacturer as "unknown" but Ernie Latter says this is from the Waterbury Button Company. It's a R-8.

Nice token. I tried to mostly stay away from Store Cards, and collect Patriotic Tokens.

I'd concur with Ernie on the maker. The design with flourishes is quite similar to the Boutwell storecards from Troy, NY. The Parma token is one that I've not seen before ... attractive piece.

My thoughts exactly on the Boutwell tokens. I went through Fuld 3 page by page and noticed the similar design.

Well, here's my latest acquisition... OH-165-CS-2a John Koch Saloonkeeper. The 3rd Ed US Civil War Store Cards calls it an R8.

That's an attractive token, Dave, having remarkably smooth surfaces. The only detractor I see for a piece like this is that the occupation is omitted. There was a Koch's Brewery in western NY. Perhaps, there's a connection? I didn't much enjoy that brand. Here are pics of their token ....
