It looks like the Coppercoins forum is shutting down, not the whole site.

Coin came in today. It is definetely a 70S small date. My H E Harris 10x loupe also came in. The cent was in the mint cellophane so the marks on it came from the mint. My Memorial book is now complete from 1959 to 2008 and has the "oddball" coins from 2009 on in there too. Maybe Dansco will make a Shield book?---John

Nice coin--glad those "marks" on the forehead were just on the cello.

I searched my first box of cents today and I found a 1970S small date, it is in pretty good condition as well. Should I consider sending it in to get graded and slabbed?
Rest in Peace

Definately a small date....congrats! The coin is not worth getting slabbed IMO. Just enjoy it as is.

I found a 1970 S small date once roll hunting. Its not nearly as pretty as your cent. Mine is what you would expect a cent to look like after 42 years of circulation. Wow, they are that old now.

Congrats. Your cent is beautiful. Protect it well. -"keep it safe, keep it secret" ;)

He has it explained and announced on http://www.coppercoins.com
He explained that since the Lincoln Cent Resource web site is so similar, they have agreed to use that one only and his coppercoins site will be shut down.
And on the Lincoln Cent Resource site there is a really great explanation of the 1970S Cents with photos.

Carl, stop spouting misinformation. Coppercoins.com is NOT shutting down, Charles is closing the CC forum and merging the FORUM ONLY with the LCR forum. The coppercoins.com website will remain open as an indispensable reference tool.

Quote:
The coppercoins.com forum, open for business since 04 July, 2004, will be shut down permanently on 01 April, 2012.

After a long, hard period of consideration I have thought through the redesign of coppercoins.com and all the things that will come to this site, and there simply is not room in the plans to keep a forum running that has only sparse activity.

I had a discussion with Brad Podraza, owner and proprietor of the Lincoln Cent Resource (LCR) forum, and he and I agree that since his forum promotes coppercoins and is basically serving the exact same purpose as the coppercoins forum, there's no need to have both of them open. So when the coppercoins.com forum shuts down, the Lincoln Cent Resource will become the official forum of coppercoins.com.
